WHAT ARE COOKIES?

A cookie is a file that is downloaded to your computer when you access certain websites. Cookies allow a website, among other things, to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or their computer, and depending on the information they contain and the way you use your computer, they can be used to recognise the user. The user's browser stores cookies on the hard drive only during the current session, occupying minimal memory space and not harming the computer. Cookies do not contain any kind of specific personal information, and most of them are deleted from the hard drive at the end of the browser session (what are known as session cookies).

COOKIES AFFECTED BY THE REGULATION AND EXEMPT COOKIES

According to the EU directive, cookies that require the user's informed consent are analytics cookies and advertising and affiliate cookies, with the exception of those of a technical nature and those necessary for the operation of the website or the provision of services expressly requested by the user.

TYPES OF COOKIES

a) Depending on the entity that manages them, there are first-party cookies (those that are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the publisher itself and from which the solicited service is provided) and third party Cookies (those that are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain that is not managed by the editor, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies).

b) Depending on how long they remain active, there are session cookies (designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a web page) and persistent cookies (in which the data is stored in the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the party responsible for the cookie (which can range from a few minutes to several years).

c)  Depending on the purpose for which they process the information they collect, they may be:
– Technical cookies: These are necessary for the use of the website and the provision of the contracted service.
– Personalisation cookies: These cookies allow the user to access the service with predefined characteristics, such as language, browser type, regional settings, etc.
– Analysis cookies: These are those that, whether handled by us or by third parties, allow us to quantify the number of users and thus carry out the measurement and statistical analysis of the use made by users of the service offered. In order to do this, your navigation on our website is analysed in order to improve our offer of products and services.
– Advertising cookies: These collect information about users' preferences and personal choices.
– Affiliate cookies: These allow tracking of visits from other websites, with which the website establishes an affiliation contract.
